Kane County GOP Honors DeLoris Doederlein with 2025 Civil Servant Award

ST. CHARLES, IL – The Kane County Republican Central Committee proudly presented its 2025 Civil Servant Award to DeLoris Doederlein of East Dundee, Illinois, at the annual Lincoln Dinner on February 8. A dedicated educator, community leader, and lifelong Republican, DeLoris has spent decades serving her community in multiple capacities, making an enduring impact on Kane County and beyond.

DeLoris Doederlein, now 99 years old, has led a remarkable life defined by service, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to her community. A graduate of Valparaiso University and National Louis University, she dedicated her career to education, teaching across multiple grade levels in Community Unit District 300 and at Immanuel Lutheran School. Her passion for education extended beyond the classroom, shaping young minds and inspiring generations.

In 1986, DeLoris answered the call to public service and was elected as a Republican to the Illinois House of Representatives, where she served from 1987 to 1993. Reflecting on her time in office, she once said, “It was a learning situation for me... but I knew right and wrong, and I always tried to do the right thing.” Her principled leadership and commitment to doing what was right guided her throughout her tenure in state government.

Beyond her time in Springfield, DeLoris remained an active force in local Republican politics, serving for years as a Precinct Committeeperson for Dundee Township. Her work to strengthen the Republican Party at the grassroots level has been invaluable, ensuring that conservative values and strong leadership remain at the forefront of Kane County governance.

“DeLoris Doederlein represents the very best of public service,” said Kane County GOP Chairman Andro Lerario. “Her dedication to education, her leadership in state government, and her continued work within the Republican Party exemplify the highest ideals of civic duty. At nearly a century old, she continues to inspire us all with her passion and commitment to our community. It is an honor to recognize her with the 2025 Civil Servant Award.”

In addition to her contributions to politics and education, DeLoris and her late husband, Fred, co-owned and operated Doederlein Lumber Company in East Dundee, a fixture in the community for decades. The historic lumberyard, located along the Kane County bike path, served as a cornerstone of local business and economic development.

Even in her later years, DeLoris remains a pillar of the East Dundee community. She continues to volunteer with the VFW Auxiliary, contributes to local charitable initiatives, and enjoys connecting with friends and neighbors at Eastside Cafe. Her devotion to civic engagement and community service embodies the Republican values of hard work, faith, and responsibility.

“DeLoris has spent her life serving others, never seeking recognition, but always leading with heart and dedication,” added Chairman Lerario. “We are grateful for her lifelong service, and we celebrate her incredible contributions to Dundee Township, Kane County, and the Republican Party.”

The Kane County GOP extends its heartfelt congratulations to DeLoris Doederlein and thanks her for her decades of service. Her legacy of leadership and community involvement will continue to inspire generations to come.
