Kane County Treasurer’s Office Awarded Prestigious 90+ cashVest Award by three+one

Posted on Kane County GOP Blog by Denise Burnett · January 17, 2026 7:25 PM

Pittsford, NY (December 15, 2025) Kane County, Illinois Treasurer’s Office and Chris Lauzen have been awarded the prestigious 90+ cashVest Award for 2025 in recognition of their exemplary leadership in public finance liquidity management. This honor is given through a collaboration between the National Association of Counties (NACo) and three+one, a national financial-technology firm that specializes in evaluating cash-management practices within the public sector. This award underscores the organization’s commitment to utilizing data-driven insights to maximize every taxpayer dollar, delivering enhanced benefits to communities nationwide.

Matthew Chase, CEO/Executive Director of NACo, commented on the award: “We congratulate the recipients of the cashVest 90+ Award. This elite group of award winners has demonstrated outstanding leadership in liquidity management. We applaud these public finance leaders for helping to maximize the value of their taxpayers’ dollars, optimize cash flow, lower borrowing costs, and strengthen protections for public resources.”

Garrett Macdonald, Chief Executive Officer of three+one, added: “Collectivelygenerating hundreds of millions in additional revenue in 2025 alone that wouldotherwise have to be raised in taxes is an amazing accomplishment. As each ofthese entities continues to navigate an ever-changing economic landscape, theyhave gone above and beyond to set a national standard in cash management and tocertify they are doing everything they can to maximize their liquid cash resources.”

Chris Lauzen CPA, Kane County’s Treasurer, observed, “It was famous management consultant Peter Drucker who said, ‘What gets measured gets improved’. Illinois property taxpayers pay the highest rates in the U. S., so it’s especially important thatwe put every dollar of their sacrifices to work earning more interest income. When bankers pay more on Kane County cash balances, taxpayers should be able to payless property taxes for County expenses.”

By maintaining a cashVest score of 90 or above for four consecutive quarters, theKane County Treasurer’s Office has demonstrated its commitment to effective cash management, improving financial stability, and ensuring responsible stewardship of public resources.
