Need another reason to vote for Lance Bell for Kane County Chairman? Consider this: Recently, Democrat Kane Chairwoman Corinne Pierog posted on Facebook promoting Democrat Monica Silva for Coroner. Does Madam Chair really believe Monica Silva should be Coroner?

While it's understandable that she can't endorse Rob Russell, she could have followed the example of many other Democrats and stayed out of the race. Rob Russell has excelled as Coroner. Even Corinne has praised his work on numerous occasions. Russell has secured millions in Federal and State Grants, transforming the coroner’s office into a highly accredited, professional organization. He is a former President and the current Legislative Chair of the Illinois Coroners and Medical Examiners Association. He is respected across party lines as an elected official who prioritizes the well-being of people over politics.

Corinne Pierog’s recent Facebook post suggests otherwise. She seems to prefer an unqualified Democrat over a proven leader who has transformed the Kane County Coroner’s Office from a laughingstock to a model of excellence. Monica Silva lacks the forensic experience and specialized training in death investigations, forensic science, and legal procedures necessary for the role of Coroner.

Loyalty is important, but it should never trump honor. Lance Bell understands the balance between loyalty and honor and will prioritize them appropriately.
