Madam Chair Strikes Again Let's Fill the Room to Say NO to Gas Tax Nov 1st at 9:00 AM
On October 25, during the Kane County Finance & Budget Committee meeting, the committee voted five to one against authorizing an increase in the County Motor Fuel Tax from 4.7 cents to 8 cents per gallon, representing a bipartisan majority. However, the integrity of this bipartisan decision has come into question. Madam Chair Pierog, who faces reelection next year, took the unusual step of overriding the committee's decision. She has added a resolution to approve the tax increase to the Executive Committee's agenda for November 1 at 9:00 a.m. This development raises concerns about transparency and accountability in local government. Our elected representatives must uphold the principles of responsible governance and respect the decisions of their colleagues.
We urge you to attend the Kane County Executive Committee meeting on November 1. Yourpresence at this meeting sends a clear and powerful message to Madam Chair Pierog and the committee: we demand transparency, accountability, and responsible fiscal decisions. Let yourvoices be heard. Join us at Building A, 719 S. Batavia Ave, and, if possible, register to speak.
