Kane County GOP Partners with Fortis Paving for “Fill My Truck” Charity Event Supporting Lazarus House

Kane County, IL – November 24, 2024 – The Kane County GOP is proud to announce its continued support for the “Fill My Truck” charity event, sponsored by Fortis Paving, to benefit Lazarus House in St. Charles, IL. This heartwarming initiative aims to collect essential items and gift cards to provide hope and support to individuals and families in need during the holiday season.

Lazarus House serves as a lifeline for men, women, and children by offering safe shelter, nourishing food, and comprehensive support services. Every donation, big or small, plays a critical role in bringing comfort and relief to those in our community who need it most.

“This is the second year that the Kane County GOP has supported Fortis Paving's long-standing tradition of helping Lazarus House,” said Andro Lerario, Co-Owner of Fortis Paving and Chairperson for Kane County GOP. “Helping our neighbors in need, especially during the holidays, is a cause close to our hearts, and we are thrilled to continue this meaningful tradition.”

Last year’s event exceeded expectations, filling Lazarus House’s stockroom with essential supplies. This year, the goal is to surpass that success.

“Throughout the year, we evaluate different ways to give back to our community,” said Dave Tomek, Director of Kane County Community Outreach and Vice Chairperson for St. Charles Republicans. “The ‘Fill My Truck’ event allows us to make a tangible impact right here in Kane County. Let’s work together to fill those trucks and bring hope to our neighbors in need!”

How to Participate:
To contribute, please purchase items from the suggested donation list and drop them off at the Kane County GOP office, located at 333 N. Randall Road, Suite 115, St. Charles, IL 60174, during the following collection hours:

Monday–Friday: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

The collection period runs from Monday, December 2 through Saturday, December 14. On Sunday, December 15, all donations will be delivered to Lazarus House.

Suggested Donation Items:

Household Supplies: Paper plates, disposable bowls, disposable coffee cups, nitrile gloves (LG), paper towels, toilet paper, disinfecting wipes, laundry detergent, 33-gallon garbage bags, tall kitchen garbage bags, aluminum pans (9x13), tissues, and floor cleanser.
Food Supplies: Sugar (3-4 lb.), regular ground coffee, sandwich baggies, and paper napkins.
Gift Cards: Uber, Meijer, Walmart, Target, and Aldi gift cards are especially appreciated and help provide transportation, medical access, or job-related items.

Please Note: Items with lavender fragrance should be excluded.
